Luckily during my hospital visit my new gynaecologist agreed to surgery on the cyst on my left ovary. However, she wants to be certain that the lesions aren't wider spread (my rectum was mentioned eek). To do this I need a pelvic MRI.
As for "plan blanc" she said she wasn't scheduling anything before the end of September, but if MRI scan comes back ok she could do it then. If it doesn't then she'll need to refer me to a surgeon in Aix-en-Provence.
I asked to wait until the school holidays at the end of October as then I won't need to take more time off. It's a good job I did as an appointment for this type of MRI scan was harder to get hold of.
I'm to continue to manage the pain as I am currently unless it worsens.
All in all so much quicker than it would have been in the UK where I know people who have battled the NHS for years for surgery.
Heureusement, lors de ma visite à l'hôpital, ma nouvelle gynécologue a accepté d'opérer le kyste sur mon ovaire gauche. Cependant, elle veut s'assurer que les lésions ne sont pas plus étendues (mon rectum a été mentionné). Pour ce faire, j'ai besoin d'une IRM pelvienne.
En ce qui concerne le "plan blanc", elle a dit qu'elle ne prévoyait rien avant la fin septembre, mais que si l'IRM revenait positive, elle pourrait la faire à ce moment-là. Si ce n'est pas le cas, elle devra m'adresser à un chirurgien d'Aix-en-Provence.
J'ai demandé à attendre les vacances scolaires de fin octobre pour ne pas avoir à me faire arrêter. J'ai bien fait car il était plus difficile d'obtenir un rendez-vous pour ce type d'IRM.
Je dois continuer à gérer la douleur comme je le fais actuellement, à moins qu'elle ne s'aggrave.
Dans l'ensemble, c'est beaucoup plus rapide qu'au Royaume-Uni, où je connais des gens qui se sont battus pendant des années avec le NHS pour une opération.
